Maharashtra ranges from the wet Konkan coast and Western Ghats to the dry Deccan plateau and the very hot Vidarbha region, so the weather can differ a lot between cities on the same day.
The monsoon usually reaches the Konkan coast around the second week of June and covers the state by late June. The coast and Ghats get very heavy rain; interior districts such as Solapur and Aurangabad lie in a rain shadow and get much less.
Vidarbha (Nagpur) has some of India's hottest summers, often above 43 °C in May. The Deccan cities (Pune, Nashik) have pleasant winters with cool nights, while Mumbai stays warm and humid.
