Which state has the first monsoon rain in India?

Kerala usually gets the southwest monsoon first, around 1 June, although the Andaman and Nicobar Islands often get it a week or two earlier, in mid-to-late May. From Kerala it spreads north and west, covering the whole country by around early July.

Which states get rain from the northeast monsoon?

Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh get most of their rain from the northeast monsoon in October to December, unlike most of India, which gets its rain from June to September.

Which are the coldest and hottest parts of India?

Ladakh, high areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh get the coldest winters, with temperatures far below freezing. Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Vidarbha in Maharashtra and parts of Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana see the strongest summer heatwaves, often above 45 °C.
